Chef

Ranney Moran is the Culinary Director at the Chester County Food Bank and Chef Instructor of the FRESHstart program.

After graduating college, Ranney attended the French Culinary Institute in NYC where his true passion for cooking began. He honed his skills working in some of the top restaurants in New York and abroad.

In 2015, Ranney was inspired to address the mental health and addiction issues rampant in the food community. He began conversations with several non-profits to develop a workforce development program that would provide culinary and life skills training. The program works with those suffering from barriers to employment, to secure jobs with "high-road" employers in the hospitality industry.

A proud member of the recovery community, knowing all too well the stresses of kitchen life, Ranney works directly with students, helping them navigate a healthy transition from a life of chronic unemployment, incarceration, or substance abuse, to gainful employment with a new outlook for the future.
